W. Luther Pierce IV, CLU
Lou is the President of TPG Consulting, LLC. He began his insurance career in the actuarial department at a large southeastern insurance company immediately after graduating from college. With this company, he gained experience serving as both a home office pension actuary and a Regional Sales Manager. Before launching TPG Consulting, Lou was an owner/officer of Plybon & Associates, Inc. for over three decades.
Lou works with closely held businesses assisting individuals and business executives with their insurance and employee benefit needs. He has developed a specialty in designing and administering unique life, disability, and qualified retirement plans. He has qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) every year since 1983 (membership based on sales production), and has achieved Court of the Table and Top of the Table status, having served as Chairman of Top of the Table in 2010.
Active in many professional groups and civic organizations, along with numerous local and national charitable organizations, Lou currently serves on the Board of Search Ministries. He is prior Chairman of the Board of his local YMCA and past Treasurer of the Greensboro Tennis Association. Lou previously served on the Board of River Landing at Sandy Ridge is also involved with the Lighthouse Project, which encourages high school youth throughout the Triad.
Lou graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and the FINRA Series 6, 22, 63, and 65 securities registrations. His professional associations include AALU, ASPPA, MDRT, NAIFA and Society of Financial Service Professionals.
